Design Engineer

The Position: The Design Engineer is responsible for preparing engineering designs, technical studies, sketches, and maps for a variety of projects. This includes collaborating with internal staff & external consultants to help deliver the best possible materials to the client.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop drawings and design layouts for engineering projects to ensure the projects specifications are upheld,
- Plan, prepare and interpret preliminary layouts and design drawings from engineering notes, sketches or drawings,
- Use standard drafting principles to complete drawings in AutoCAD or CartoPac Enterprise,
- Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure deadlines are met and the intent of the design are sustained throughout the project,
- Review drawings for accuracy and completeness with special attention to the project specifications and standards,
- Research code issues and work with different city, county, and state agencies,
- Complete any project specific issues that arise during a project.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, from an ABET accredited university,
- 2 years engineering design experience,
- Proficiency with AutoCAD,
- Ability to produce drawings, layouts, sketches, and maps in AutoCAD Civil 3D,
- Advanced technical, and communication skills,
- Ability to work on and prioritize concurrent projects and deadlines.
