WLG Welcomes Ben Macaluso

WLG is pleased to also announce the appointment of Ben Macaluso as Vice-President of Business Development. Previously a Vice President of Planned Communities at Lewis Group of Companies in Upland, California, Ben will assist in overseeing the firm’s business development activities for all sectors.
Ben is a native of Southern California, spending most of his years in the Inland Empire. Ben attended Cal State Fullerton University where he studied Business Administration. He began his career in the Engineering Consulting / Land Development Industry in 1996 with RFA, Inc where he served as a Project Manager and eventually the Operations Manager. In 2001 he joined Hall and Forman, Inc. as a Project Manager and eventually became an Associate. In 2006 he joined The Lewis Group of Companies as a Project Manager and served as a Vice President of Planned Communities from 2011 to 2018.
Ben’s experience includes Commercial, Retail, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, and Capital Improvement Projects. He has extensive knowledge of the Due Diligence, Entitlement, and Permitting processes, as well as Master Planning, Construction Bidding, and Construction Support. Ben has managed projects that have Construction Budgets from $500,000 to $500,000,000.
His project experience ranges from Gas Stations, Fast Food Restaurants, Small and Large Retail, and Specific Plans to Residential Master Planned Communities of 1,800 to 12,000 units, including Summit Heights in Fontana, The Preserve at Chino, Harmony in Highland, and Renaissance in Rialto. Ben has dealt successfully with regulatory agencies, CFD Formation, and Development Impact Fee Programs and his expertise includes coordination with and management of environmental, traffic, and planning consultants, as well as contractors and land use attorneys.
Some notable clients include: Chevron, McDonalds, Walgreens, Walmart, SunCal, KB Home, Centex, Lennar, Ryland, various Water Districts, and Governmental Agencies.
