UAVs have now become another technology tool in WLG's survey engineers toolbox, such as the Robotic Total Station and GPS. WLG has introduced the use of UAVs in the site development and utility industry providing real-time analyses, cost reductions, and safety enhancements. WLG has developed techniques and policies using UAVs in its engineering and mapping process
Scanning Technology has transformed the Industry and the way geospatial data is collected and represented. This technological explosion has produced some very tangible improvements, a higher-quality work product, increased productivity, and a wider variety of services at significant cost savings. WLG is at the forefront of these advances including 3D Laser Scanning.
WLG is made up of four principals, including founders Richard and Mary Josenhans as well as Glenn M. Chung, PE, QSD/P, and Matthew H. Okubo, PLS, who were brought on board as Principal partners in 2017. Together, they oversee employee relations, daily operations, client relations, and special department oversight ensuring that the company's resources and assets are aligned strategically for growth and financial expectations.
Glenn Chung, PE, QSD/P | President / Principal: Mr. Chung has been newly designated as the firm’s President and Principal partner at WLG overseeing the land development and pipeline engineering business practices, business development/marketing, information technology, corporate operations, and development/implementation of the firm’s strategic and financial growth plan. Mr. Chung has over 25 years of experience providing engineering services for public and private-sector clients. He is a native of Southern California and was born and raised in Hacienda Heights where he began his career working at his father’s company as a survey chainman and engineering designer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from California State University, Long Beach and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California. Over the years Mr. Chung has served in various leadership positions at previous firms including California Regional Manager, Vice President, and Principal for their commercial/industrial business units.
Matthew H. Okubo, PLS | President / Principal: Mr. Okubo has been newly designated as the firm’s President and Principal partner at WLG overseeing all aspects of public utility and geospatial operations, business development/marketing, advanced/remote sensing technology, corporate operations, financial compliance/growth, and development/implementation of the firm’s strategic plans. Mr. Okubo has over 25 years of geospatial experience spanning across multiple industries. He is a native of Lahaina, Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the field of civil engineering before later discovering his passion in land surveying and business. Over the years, Mr. Okubo has excelled in both field and office capacities and served in various leadership positions at previous firms including California Regional Manager, Vice President, and Principal. He is well known in the professional community and has been a speaker at various industry events.
Mary Josenhans | Retired: Mrs. Josenhans, former Principal and co-founder of WLG, is responsible for the financial strength, human resources, overall profitability and performance of the firm. Mrs. Josenhans, a native of Southern California, has over 40 years of experience in finance and business development. After attending Sawyer school of business and administration in the early seventies she began her career managing a collection service company before taking over the accounting helm for Kaplan-Smith, a financial consulting firm for the savings and loan industry. Mrs. Josenhans went on to become the key analysist for K.P.M.G. Financials, before becoming Vice-President of Smith Banking, where she was responsible for government analyses on the Fair-Lending Act. After several years with Smith Banking she decided to establish MSJ Consulting Corp., where she continued providing financial analysis and consulting for the major banks and lending institutions throughout the United States. Under Mrs. Josenhans watchful eye towards company performance the firm has become recognized for its excellence receiving numerous awards as top 100 firms in North America.
Richard Josenhans, PLS | Retired: Mr. Josenhans, former Principal and co-founder of WLG, is responsible for structuring and implementing WLG’s strategic business direction. Mr. Josenhans, a native of Southern California, career spans over 50 years in the engineering and geospatial industries managing major projects while effectuating technologies. Before co-founding WLG he spent 29 years managing various sectors for one of the nation’s largest utility company and through his collaboration with JPL in the early 80’s helped introduce GPS technology into the Geospatial industry, proving large scale GIS projects were a reality through his work on “Project America”. He also developed the first pipeline/earth quake alert system with his collaboration with Caltech. He has been a published co-author of several articles on UAV and Scanning technology with the scientific community and has been a keynote speaker for the California Council of Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors, Pacific Coast Gas Association, and the Futurists Conference with Caltech. Mr. Josenhans holds degrees in business, engineering/surveying, and mapping.
